Barclays Bank at Harborne
Serving our community's needs
The decimation of local high streets is a real issue around the UK, with more and more vital services disappearing from town centres. So when the local Barclays Bank announced they were closing their high street branch, our leisure centre in Harborne became the ideal place for a new community hub.
Operating two days a week Harborne Pool and Fitness Centre provided Barclays Bank to operate within inside the leisure centre.
This not only provided the local community with somewhere to access their banking neesd, but also generated £15,000 in revenue for Places Leisure to reinvest in it's leisure facilities.
The Barclays community hub will continue to operate at Harborne Pool and Fitness Centre for the rest of 2023, with talks ongoing to establish a partnership that will see the provision continue into 2024.
