As part of the Places Leisure community, we're determined to have a shared idea of what that really means for our people.
Alongside our colleagues at the wider Places for People group, we set about to create our People Promises. These define everything we do and will not only help in our mission create and support thriving communities across the UK, but will underpin what a new colleague should fee from the moment their join Places Leisure.
Our People Promises in full:
- Do the right thing. Always.
- Fired up, ready to grow.
- One community.
- Be respectful, earn respect.
- Enjoy work.
Our senior team
As a leading leisure operator, our directors and management team utilise their collective proficiency and experience to form the backbone of Places Leisure.
The people behind our places
Our Places wouldn’t be what they are without our People. Our Placemakers, coaches, instructors and teachers are the driving force behind what allows our communities to flourish.
Equality and diversity
Inclusion is imperative across our business. We actively address barriers to underrepresented groups to prevent discrimination and reflect the healthy communities we create as well as constantly striving to recognise our employees.
Gender pay gap report
Companies employing 250 people or more are required to publish a Gender Pay Gap report each year. The report must contain certain statistics that seek to measure the gender pay gap. These statistics must also be provided to the Government.
Led by our culture and SPIRIT values, we go above the requirements and report on gender pay across the whole organisation, regardless of size, as well as fulfil our legal obligations.
Our latest Gender Pay Gap report, as at 5 April 2021, outlines gender pay across the organisation, as well as the breakdown for our companies which must legally publish their data.
What is the gender pay gap?
The gender pay gap is a measure of the difference between the average pay of men and women across the same organisation. It is not the same as equal pay, which relates to men and women being paid equally for equal work or work of equal value. This has been a legal requirement for many years and a matter of principle that we are committed to.
