National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
The NPLQ is the most awarded lifeguard qualification in the UK and Ireland and is also internationally recognised. More than 40,000 pool lifeguards qualify with the RLSS UK every year, and there are currently more than 80,000 pool lifeguards qualified in the NPLQ – 95% of all UK pool lifeguards.
The NPLQ covers all elements of Pool Rescue Techniques, Lifeguarding Theory, First Aid and CPR. The course is physically demanding and will include swimming to set times, lifting casualties and diving to the deepest part of the swimming pool. Training and assessment for the NPLQ are in three sections, and candidates must successfully pass all to attain the qualification.

First Aid at Work / Emergency First Aid at Work
A safe working environment is a basic right for all workers and a responsibility for all employers. This one-day first aid course covers a range of CPR and first aid skills, providing employers and your staff with the skills to reduce the risks and dangers in your workplace. The Emergency First Aid at Work is endorsed by CIMSPA and the First Aid Awarding Organisation Forum.
The IQL Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work/ First Aid at Work Qualification covers a wide range of CPR and first aid skills, equipping the first-aider to apply first aid to a range of specific injuries and illness.
The course comprises of practical work and theoretical classroom work, including practical assessment on CPR and first aid, providing you with the skills to ensure a safe working environment.
The qualification is Ofqual accredited and valid for three years, making it suitable for all industries and enabling you to meet HSE requirements.

Paediatric First Aid
The First Aid needs of children vary from those of adults. This course is for anyone over the age of 16 that comes into contact with or works with infants and children. This comprehensive course equips the first aider to administer First Aid to children and infants and covers a wide range of CPR and First Aid skills. On completion, candidates will obtain an IQL Level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid. The Emergency Paediatric First Aid is endorsed by CIMSPA and the First Aid Awarding Organisation Forum.

Automatic External Defibrillator
Defibrillators (AEDs) have been proven to significantly increase the chances of survival in cases of cardiac arrest. This course teaches candidates how to give effective CPR and use an AED to feel confident if an emergency occurs. The AED course is endorsed by CIMSPA.

Anaphylaxis Management
RLSS UK has partnered with the Anaphylaxis Campaign, the only UK wide charity solely focused on supporting people at risk of severe allergic reactions. This IQL Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis covers providing First Aid to an unresponsive casualty and recognising a casualty with anaphylaxis. The Anaphylaxis Management course is endorsed by CIMSPA.
The Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis course is a four hour course comprising of practical work and theoretical classroom work, including practical assessment on CPR, AED and use of an adrenaline auto-injector.
