Congratulations Isaac!

Aston-cum-aughton's swimmer of the year

After a challenging 2021 we wanted to round the year off with some good news stories.  We asked all of our Swimming Teachers to nominate those distinctive, very special swimmers who deserved a bit of recognition.

They were asked to identify swimmers on our lesson programmes (children and adults) who have displayed positive attitudes, unyielding determination or, have put in efforts over and above their peers.  They may have overcome personal adversity or achieved something unexpected or challenging.

Isaac Gibson - Aston Cum Aughton's Swimmer of the year 2021!

Nominated by his teacher Claire

'Isaac used to swim in group lessons and struggled so much, he has autism and anxiety.

Once Isaac joined the 1-2-1's, we started a plan to begin to get Isaac to learn to swim each week. His confidence starting to shine and he started gaining trust, we use the iPod so Isaac knows what he has to learn.

Isaac now swims in deep water and we have been going through water safety. It's hard to describe how proud I am of Isaac and as the parents say if they hadn't had 1-2-1s Isaac wouldn't be able to swim.
