Congratulations Adrian!

Fairfield Leisure Centre's Swimmer of the year

After a challenging 2021 we wanted to round the year off with some good news stories.  We asked all of our Swimming Teachers to nominate those distinctive, very special swimmers who deserved a bit of recognition.

They were asked to identify swimmers on our lesson programmes (children and adults) who have displayed positive attitudes, unyielding determination or, have put in efforts over and above their peers.  They may have overcome personal adversity or achieved something unexpected or challenging.

Adrian Emamzadeh Kondazi - Fairfield Leisure Centre's Swimmer of the Year 2021
Nominated by his teacher Jonathan Green

"I would like to put Adrian forward for Swimmer of the Year for all the hard work he has achieved in his lessons.

Unfortunately with the Pandemic, he missed out on all his school swimming lessons over the past year, so almost a year of catching up was needed. I cannot believe how quick he has improved.

He joined our swim program in September and he is so determined to become a stronger swimmer. He always listens to every instruction and takes everything in his stride.
Adrian even inspired his Dad to join our swim program who I also have the privilege of teaching in my adult classes after. They both have improved immensely and bounce off one another.

If Adrian wins, I am sure he would share the trophy with his Dad."
