Congratulations Oliver!
The Dolphin's Swimmer of the year
After a challenging 2021 we wanted to round the year off with some good news stories. We asked all of our Swimming Teachers to nominate those distinctive, very special swimmers who deserved a bit of recognition.
They were asked to identify swimmers on our lesson programmes (children and adults) who have displayed positive attitudes, unyielding determination or, have put in efforts over and above their peers. They may have overcome personal adversity or achieved something unexpected or challenging.
Oliver Baldwin - The Dolphin's Swimmer of the Year 2021
Nominated by her teacher Charlotte Leahy

"Our swimmer of the year is Oliver Baldwin. Since starting his swimming journey he has been a really nervous swimmer and hasn’t settled with a teacher.
He has a genuine fear of being out of his depth and doesn’t believe his true ability. This week I’ve seen Oliver’s confidence not only surprise me but also his parents, his technique is developing along with his core strength.
He has not only put himself forward to swim first in class (he would always go last and get upset and feel uncomfortable) He is now able to swim a full width (12 metres) feeling happy and confident.
He has come so far with building his confidence and self esteem that this has now displayed in his swimming in stage 3."
Well done Oliver, you have made the swimming teachers at the Dolphin proud.
