A member of staff at Hinkley Leisure Centre has put her fashion degree to good use during lockdown and is making wash bags, face masks and head bands for NHS staff and people in her community.

Jordan Spink, who is normally a Membership Advisor at the centre, has now made and distributed more than 600 wash bags and 300 headbands that have gone to University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire, Leicester Royal Infirmary, Leicester Maternity Services and individual NHS staff.

She explained: “We've been making and sending/delivering them free to whoever needs them. The fabric that’s used is primarily donated bed sheets that can be washed at 60 degrees.”

She has also made over 150 and face masks for health care workers, neighbours and vulnerable members of her community, taking orders free of charge but with the option to donate to charity. So far she has raised over £200.

“I had a lot of people however wanting to donate for their face masks so we have set up a donation page which is going to NHS Charities Together.
